Car Trash Can Review

When I went about ordering this. I expected this huge, bulky trash can. I thought I would have to put it in the very back of my van, because I expected it to stick out too far for anyone to be able to sit in the seat that it was hanging in front of. When this arrived, I was pleasantly surprised that this was much smaller than I expected. It is well made, strong and sturdy. This will last for quite some time.

This bag is only a few inches deep. This means that it can hang on the back of any seat, without interfering with the person who is sitting behind it. This, as I said, is the one thing I worried about. I haven’t had a chance to get pictures of it hanging on the back of the seat. So I took photos of it compared to a 2-liter so that you can see the size of it. In addition to being narrow, if you are not using it, it folds up very well. It even has velcro on the top frame and on the bottom, to hold it flat when not in use.

If you don’t want to use it for trash, and want to use it to hold things instead, it would hold a decent amount of whatever. I’m guessing at least 3 2-liters side by side inside of this would fit well. Also, as you notice this has pockets on the side, so that you can use those to hold trash bags, if you were going to use this as a trash can, or you can use it to hold smaller items that you don’t want lost in the bottom of it.

This bag is wide, as mentioned above, you could probably fit 3-4 two liters in there side by side. Along with whatever else. It would hold enough trash for a long trip. A grocery bag fits in here nicely, and you can tuck the handles over the side of it. There are straps on the back of it, to strap around the headrest of the seat. It buckles with a plastic buckle, and hangs freely on the seat. As you can see, this is wide enough to cover the back of the seat when hanging there.

You can see how deep this is. At least as deep as the 2-liter it is standing next to. This means, as stated earlier, that it would hold a lot of items, or a lot of trash. It should hang just above the knees of the person who is sitting in the seat behind where it is hanging. If it doesn’t, the straps are adjustable to shorten it up some, so that it isn’t an issue for the people sitting there. This is an added bonus, because no one wants to have a trash bag sitting in their lap when they are riding in the car. If you are using it for trash, you could easily unbuckle it and move it to a further back seat as well. Or sit it on the floor. It is very sturdy, and strong, and will stand on it’s own, as seen in the photos I took. So it doesn’t necessarily have to be hanging from the back of a seat, if that becomes an issue.
The inside is made of a strong vinyl, so that it is easy to clean if it gets dirty or if someone spills something in it. All it takes is a quick wipe down with a soapy rag, and you’re good to go again. The top of this trash bag has a wire frame in it, so it stays open with no issues, and it folds well, and holds together (there’s the velcro I mentioned earlier in the photo).

All in all I absolutely love this car trash can. I am not sure I will use it for trash. I will probably use it to hold all of my children’s toys and such that they leave in the car, that way they are in the same place, and out of the way. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a car trash can, or a travel bag for their vehicle.
